Buying Property Part 1 |

Looking for a property in Andalucia
We have been living in Inland Andalucia, Spain for over 4 years now and have over that period learnt a lot about buying and ‘refurbishing’ a property in Spain, be it a full time family home, a holiday home or a property ‘to let’ to receive an income from. We have over the last couple of years of running our own bed & breakfast hotel in the Heart of Andalucia and have had many visitors staying with us doing just that same thing, but they have experienced many difficulties in making their dreams come true. Many people have suffered difficulties in finding just that right property to fit their requirements or their budget, many have been ‘led astray’ by enthusiastic ‘Estate Agents’ convincing them that they can ‘afford to buy a property above their budget with the help of a Spanish Mortgage’ even though they tell them they do not want this. Many have been told that the property they are looking at has all the documentation in order only to find that once they ‘fall in love’ with that property they then discover the paperwork is not in order and may take (as usually does) months to sort out (with them footing the bill). Most people in our experience looking to buy a property in Spain start with looking at the internet and selecting several properties that they like the look of and are within their budget and then proceed to email the agent concerned and booking an appointment with them. Unfortunately in our experiences many people never get to see half of the properties that they make these appointments for, being told when arriving in Spain that they have either been sold or are not available any more, or that the house needs more work than you thought and that your budget is not enough. The other reason we think this happens is because a lot of Agents do not seem to update their web sites very often and take out the ones that have been sold, (our house was still on the web site 6 months after we moved in) but this is also ‘a sprat to catch a mackerel’ if you understand that expression, once they have you here in Spain they then proceed to show you a lot of properties, most of which are not to your requirements or budget, hoping that you will buy something else usually completely different from what your dream was for.
What we are offering is to give customers all of the benefits of our experiences and helping you to find that dream home in ‘Inland Andalucia’ hopefully without all of the hassle, heartbreak and expense. And we must emphasize here at this point that we are NOT Estate Agents we are just fed up with hearing from our guests some of the things that they are told or the things that have happened to them and want to change the way that they are treated when buying the home of their dreams.
